Meet the Governors

Welcome to the Governors' section!

Emmer Green Primary School has control of its own financial budget. The Governing body has ultimate responsibility for the management of the school and the school budget.

The Governing Body is required to meet at least three times a year. It comprises the Headteacher, one teacher, one non-teaching member of staff, four parents, three Local Education Authority representatives and up to three co-opted governors. Each governor holds office for four years.

The full Governing Body meet termly but in addition, finance, staffing, premises and curriculum committees also meet on a regular basis.

Parent governors must be parents of registered pupils and are elected by parents of children at the school by secret ballot. All governors, especially parent governors, can be approached about any area of concern. Parent governors will ensure that these matters are discussed and parents are kept informed of any decision taken.
