Class Transitions in September 2020

 

Normally during the run up to the Summer holidays, several activities and events take place within the school to help children transition to their new classes in September. This usually includes visits and talks from their new teachers and a fun day in their new classroom getting to know the environment and staff they will spend the next academic year with. With the disruption caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown, and the subsequent restricted opening and safety protocols in place preventing the children and staff mixing across bubbles, most of these activities are not currently possible. For this reason we have put in place a 'Moving On Booklet' for each class, which is mirrored in a web page where both you and your child can see what is coming up in September. The transition pages also include video introductions from their new teachers.

To help support transition you may wish to print and complete this "passport document" with your child to take into school and share with their new class teacher in September. Alternatively, the Word-editable document can be completed electronically and then emailed to your child's new yeargroup email address.
